Elder Gregory C. Birch

Elder Birch

Elder Gregory C. Birch was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on June 23, 1965.  He was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and received the gift of the Holy Ghost at the age of twelve under the pastorate of the late Pastor Rena M. Dawkins and Bishopric of the late Bishop Alfred L. Boyd. Elder Birch was called to the ministry and began preaching the gospel at the tender age of eighteen.


Elder Birch joined the U.S. Army in 1986.  This allowed him to travel around the world and serve as a Minister at several apostolic churches.  His service also includes armor bearer, young people’s leader, brotherhood, usher board, choir member, musician, security, and pastors aid.

Elder Birch arrived at Greater Bethlehem Temple in 2002 and served faithfully under the late Bishop Dr. Nelson G. Turner. He is now honored to be currently serving under the leadership of the esteemed Bishop Calvin J. Gould as the Associate Pastor of Greater Beth-el Temple.


In 2003, Elder Birch married his high school sweetheart, La Ronda, when they reconnected after nineteen years.  Elder Birch is the father of two children.  He gives all the praise and honor to the Lord for the call to service in His kingdom.


In December 2006, Elder Birch retired after a successful 20-year military career achieving the rank of Sergeant First Class. His military career includes two tours of duty in Germany, the Persian Gulf War in Iraq, and South Korea.  Elder Birch’s military awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medals, Army Achievement Medals, Army Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, South West Asia Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Kosovo Campaign Medal, Parachutist Badge, and German Armed Forces Marksmanship Badge.
