First Lady Valerie Gould
First Lady Valerie Gould was born April 17, in Omaha, Nebraska. She was the daughter of John and Rosetta Newson.
Sister Gould attended Technical Junior High and graduated from Central High School in 1972. She received her Associates degree from Metropolitan Community College in Microsoft Office Technology in December 2005.
Lady Gould was baptized in Jesus’ name at the age of seven. At the age of 12 she received the baptism of the Holy Ghost during Sunday night praise service at Greater Bethlehem Temple (GBT). She has been a Junior Missionary, Sunday school teacher and secretary, kitchen worker, Carryout Team worker and an usher. Currently she is the Mother’s Club Chairlady, Choir Director, member of the G.B.T. Business Office Staff, Secretary for Nebraska State Council Ministers’ Wives, Praise Team member, and Missionary member.
On December 4, 1976, Lady Valerie married then Brother Calvin Gould. Elder and Sister Gould have four children, Rosetta, Crystal, Calvin II, and Candace and 4 grandchildren.
Lady Gould retired as Treasury Clerk from Omaha Public Power District after 25 years of service where she worked in the Payables, Collection, and the Receipts Departments. She also retired from the YMCA. She is currently working as a Financial Coach for the Creighton University Financial Success Program.
Her awards include G.B.T. Outstanding Young Person of the Year, Omaha Public Power District Trophy, Metropolitan Community College Dean’s List and two academic honors from Phi Theta Kappa.
Lady Gould’s goal has been to keep Jesus first in her life, knowing that if she keeps him first, he will add everything she needs.
